Yes I am going to china. for 10 days.
I am writing you all a fic because of this. one that has absolutely NOTHING to do with China.
Yeah.
I.
He wasn't the sort of person you noticed. Even so, looking at him in a dark theater, he swore he'd seen that kid somewhere before.
Thing was, he probably had, and never even noticed him.
Oro, as he later learned the boy was called, was the sort of person you tended to overlook. He was shy, small, and rather lacking in the backbone department.
And no one would really notice him beyond the time the spent in actual interaction. Oro slipped under the radar, all the time, everytime.
Fei found he was sort of jealous of him.
II.
Oro knew little more then nothing about aether, that much had already been made clear.
But he worked hard. And he adapted.
Fei didn't know why he noticed, because no one else seemed to. Maybe because it seemed perfectly natural.
But it wasn't.
Oro's world had been turned upside down by Ben, and then LACRIMOSA. And Oro had freaked out a little, then buckled down, and moved on.
Like it was nothing.
Apart from the jealousy, Fei was beginning to wonder if Oro would give out lessons.
III.
It was the last thing he'd expected to see. It was the last thing any of them had expected.
He'd should have known better. Shame on him.
Oro was not to be underestimated. Besides his quiet, always-there-but-never-heavy-handed kindness, and his amazing ability to simply be exactly who he was, without question, Fei felt he should've known about the steely, almost frightening strength and determination.
Oro's abilities are a testament to how far he's come in so little time. To his amazing adaptability.
He doesn't like it, sure, but change comes easily to him.
Fei wonders if Oro is really scared of anything.
He wonders why something more then just the thought of Drew's friend getting hurt or killed grabbed him by the throat and kicked him into action when he saw what Oro was doing.
He wonders, most of all, why he hasn't been paying better attention, and taking notes. Why he feels like he's missed everything, even though he's been watching.
He wonders why he's watching.
IV.
He doesn't give himself enough credit. He says he was sure to die if Fei hadn't shown up.
Fei somehow thinks he would've found another way.
He realizes what he's thinking, and does a mental double-take before looking again at Oro, with his slight, pale flush, and obvious embarrasment.
He smiles, and if anyone notices that one is for real, that's nice for them.
Yes, he thinks, Oro would've figured something out.
He's terribly adaptable that way.
Can you tell I obsess over character psychologies too much?
Hell, can you tell I obsess over Oro?
Good, I knew you could!
Comments, concrit, you know the drill, blah blah blah.
