I'm back for round 3. Beware of the cheese.
He thinks this is possibly the stupidest thing he's ever done.
And although he prides himself on being a rather intelligent individual, Fei has to admit he's done his share of pretty d**n stupid things before.
But he supposes it's only fair, since Oro's probably had similiar thoughts in mind, and he is the cause of it.
But that doesn't quite rationalize why he's dithering around the door to Oro's room, finding every possible way to distract himself. He's not quite sure why, but since last night's incident, he'd been thinking probably far too much for his own good.
Fei catches himself before his mind decides to wander off again, and reminds himself of the horrible fate Alice had promised him if he didn't make amends with the other boy. He had no doubts that she could make good on the threat, either; the girl was rather frightening, and fiercely loyal.
Must be nice, to have someone to look out for you...
Fei shook his head, dispelling that thought right then. He didn't need to be thinking about that, right now. Taking a breath, and steeling himself from the strange, rising anxiety the encounter held (what about oro was so frightening, he couldn't say) and quietly picked the dorm lock.
Carefully opening the door, and closing it silently behind him, he spied the other, and snuck over, hoping the element of suprise would be somewhat useful. He vaguely noted the disheveled look of his friend, and bit back a suprise. Stealth, Fei. Stealth...
Oro didn't notice the other prescence until he sat down on the edge of the bed, causing him to snap upright, and reflexively move to a protective ball at the other end. Whereupon he promptly froze, much like a deer in the headlights, upon seeing who exactly it was that had snuck into his dorm.
Hurt, confused, and more then a little panicky, Oro quickly assesed that fight definitely wasn't the option to go for here, and bolted for the door, only to be caught before he even made it off the bed.
"Oro, wait...please...just...hear me out, okay?"
Like he actually had a choice. Like he could actually have said 'no' with Fei looking like that. No person with two-tone hair should be able to make that sort of puppy-eyes, dammit. He sat down, freeing his wrist from Fei's hand, and curling into a ball at the other side of the bed. He's being more hostile than is maybe warranted, but he has no other idea of how to cope with this.
"You have 30 seconds. Speak."
Fei sighs, and looks at his hands, trying to figure out what he means and articulate it at the same time.
"Look...Oro...last night....I..."
"If this is some flowery speech about how you don't feel the same way, drop it. I don't need you to pretend it's something else.”
“That's not it!” He stops, a little shocked, and Oro is too, if the look on his face is anything to go by. Well, bugger. He had to keep going now, flying blind and completely oblivious to any danger. If Ben could do it...
“....It's...I don't know, Oro, I......to tell the truth, that was the last thing I expected.”
“That makes two of us. Is there a point to this?”
Fei held back a wince. He'd forgotten that Oro had a razor-sharp tongue when he was upset.
“Look...It's not that I don't like you Oro, it's just.....I'm...I'm not really sure what to do. This may come as a shock to you, but this isn't something I have much experience with....and I'm not really sure of why you...”
Oro sighs, and looks at the floor, a blush quickly spreading on his face.
“I'm not sure either, Fei. It's.....You're beautiful, Fei, did you know that?”
Fei blinks, caught completely off-guard, and shakes his head, slowly, trying to figure out where that came from, and why on earth he had this sudden urge to turn a variety of interesting shades of red. Oro looks at him, steadily, watching his reaction, and
then looks away, speaking tiredly.
“You are, Fei. It's not just how you look, either. You have this....aura, or something...it's mysterious, and just draws people in. And...I guess...I really do want to know you...and there's....something about you, I...I just...”
Fei finds himself feeling a strange repeat of the blank shock that had grabbed him the night before. He'd never even imagined having this effect on...anyone, really. And somehow, with Oro looking like a kicked puppy, he found himself considering any number of impossible ideas.
Ben was contaigous. That had to be it.
“Oro.” The other boy looks up, confused, and for a moment Fei is struck at just how blue his eyes were. Funny how he'd never noticed before. But the idea had siezed him, and Fei acts before his brain could kick in and stop him. Leaning forward, he lightly presses his lips against Oro's, feeling the tremor of shock run through him. Pulling away, Fei catches Oro's eyes, marking the confusion and lost look to them, and whispers, as if he's afraid loud noises will spook the other.
“Let's try it, then.”
Oro blinks, confused, and rapidly turning several shades of red, before his brain processes exactly what's happening. He smiles, then, and leans his head gently on Fei's shoulder, not quite sure of how this had happened, and not caring.
“Alright. Let's try it.”
Gah, the cheese. and it's so long....
Don't shoot me if I totally got Fei wrong, I'm flying blind here.
Feedback is love. Please don't kill me.
