Hoh yes. Archery bruises be damned. There will be celebration, yes indeed.
I apologize beforehand for any crackiness outside the bounds of my normal insanity levels. It's been a long day.
So.
One would think, given the circumstances, that people would know to A, not get themselves in to hideous, complicated amounts of trouble, and B, not come bother me for help. Oro is a special case, as I have long since accepted the fact that I simply cannot leave him to his own devices, for someone may just well take it into their heads to pick him up and carry him off.
It certainly isn't his fault the gods graced him with the perfect build for such activities.
But, nonetheless, I would think no one else would be so foolish as to pester me for help.
I apparently am wrong, in this.
Very, very wrong. In fact, it's really the last thing I would expect. Of course, life has a way of making those things happen. Or I wouldn't be sitting here, with of all people, Fei, asking for my advice and probably my assistance.
Advice about relationships.
This probably shouldn't be so absurdly amusing to me. But it is. At least I can manage to keep a straight face, still.
"..and really...you know him better than the rest of us, and--"
"Why not ask him?" People. Always missing the obvious answer.
"...that may be a very, very bad idea."
"Oh, and why is that? Are you afraid of something? From what you've spent the last 20 minutes telling me, it's already clear there's mutual interest. So the only reason I can see that you haven't already done or said something is because you're afraid. Of what, I'm not sure....care to enlighten me, Fei?"
So it's mean. And a little underhanded. But it's well worth the look on Fei's face. Really, he manages that mix of shock and righteous indignation quite well.
"I'm not afraid."
"Whom exactly are you trying to convince of that? Me? or You?"
"You--!" Ah, and the lovely, incoherent, frustrated noises of defeat, along with the traditional throwing up of the hands. Point for me.
This is the point where I stare at him, and patiently wait for him to actually tell me something. It doesn't take long.
"...it's...it's dangerous...for me to get involved with...with anything...like..."
"You're already involved. You were involved the moment you decided to wait and see if Oro would be alright, maybe even the moment you hauled his feverish ass back to his room. You can't disentangle yourself now."
"But-- I can't...He'd only--"
"Get hurt? He'll get hurt either way, Fei. Besides...it's unfair to him to not even give him the choice. It's Oro's decision, as much as it is yours, and you really don't have the right to deny him that."
Aha, there we go. That silent, helpless, dejected look means I've gotten through to him. What is it with men and protecting people? Let them stand on their own two feet...help them if you can. Protecting people is for fairy tales with princesses who can't be bothered to help themselves.
"...but... what am I supposed to do...?"
"Tell him. Not everything...I can't force you to do that, it'd mean nothing, anyway...but at least give him all the important information, and let him make his choice."
"....tell him."
"Yes. "
"..........Does it have to be a fancy resturant? I'm...er..."
"Given that you are part of the denomination known as Broke College Students, no. But, flowers might be a good idea."
"...flowers. He'd kill me."
"No, just possibly maim you. I didn't say roses, man....one or two will do...I suggest white violets, personally."
"Is that supposed to make sense?"
"Just trust me. I know what I'm doing."
"Good, that makes one of us..."
"Relax, Fei...at the very least, he'll kill you quickly, so it wont hurt for long. Oro's not the type for drawn out torture...not for this, at least."
"....that does wonders for my peace of mind, thanks ever so."
"You're welcome. Now, go on, shoo! Get going! You have things to do!"
And off he goes. Perhaps it's a little mean of me, but, hey, it'd be nice to see Oro be happy with another keeper. Perhaps it'll be good for the both of them.
Besides, if they're going to bother me for advice, I might as well get entertainment out of it.
...wow, dialouge. >.>; Well, this is a new POV for me, but it was really ridiculously fun, and probably miles out of character, but oh well.
Yes, the flowers mean something, no, I won't tell you what. ^.^

Read those first...perhaps things will make marginally more sense.
Maybe.
Read, concrit, comment, you know the drill by now. Don't kill me, I can't help it.
